We are very fortunate to have our wicket nurtured under the experienced eye of Chris our groundsman. Headphones on, he'll be rocking out to rare tunes from the 1970s whilst refining the firm bounce and consistency we've started seeing in the last few years. Not too boring mind - the 'Coton bump' is still there on a length at the footpath end, a legacy from when this was Albert Peake's field, so if you're a canny bowler you'll know when to use that.

Chris will be busy this week because the senior first team under new captain Prabhdeep is training hard for the first home game of the season on Sunday 27 April.
