Coton 1sts win against Royston

Coton 1sts win against Royston

Tim Pullan11 May - 19:03

Captain's match report for home game on 10 May 2025

Result: Coton CC won by 79 runs

On an August-like sunny day, Coton first built a formidable target of 234 runs, and then displayed intensity in the bowling and field to make the result a formality by the 27th over of Royston's innings. It was a fun match played in very good spirit, and Royston are a really friendly team who know their cricket.

It was great to see Anthony Rayner back in the team opening in classic style, Praveen and Yash building formidable innings, and up and coming stars Sam Ferguson who impressed as anchor for Yash's 54 in 33 balls, and Monty who bowled very tidily for his first senior spell. And of course Shaurya and Junaid showed us how dangerous they can be with the ball.

The win also puts Coton top of the league.
